Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arbaminch – Dorze Village Visit

  • Pickup from Arbaminch airport/hotel

  • Visit the Dorze tribe in the highlands of Chencha

    • Explore their unique beehive-shaped huts, weaving culture, and traditional lifestyle

  • Overnight in Arbaminch

Day 2: Arbaminch – Konso Cultural Village (UNESCO) – Jinka

  • Morning drive to Konso (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

    • Visit stone-walled villages and learn about their terraced agriculture

  • Continue to Jinka, the gateway to lower Omo tribes

  • Overnight in Jinka

Day 3: Mursi Tribe – South Omo Research Center

  • Early morning trip to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe

    • Famous for their lip plates and elaborate body decoration

  • Visit South Omo Museum for deeper cultural context

  • Overnight in Jinka

Day 4: Jinka – Key Afer Market (Thursday only) – Turmi

  • If Thursday, visit Key Afer Market, where Tsemay, Ari, and Bena people gather

  • Proceed to Turmi, home of the Hamar tribe

  • Possible Bull-Jumping ceremony if one takes place (traditional rite of passage)

  • Overnight in Turmi

Day 5: Dassanech Tribe Excursion – Hamar Village
